Belinda Ivey of KarBel Multimedia becomes adjunct professor at UNC Charlotte
Belinda Ivey is pleased to announce that starting in Spring 2023, she will teach at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte as an adjunct professor at the Department of Art and Art History to teach graphic design. Her first classes will be in Typography and Design Thinking, and she will continue to teach at the undergraduate level.
This comes after spending 10 years as a part-time lecturer at the University of Miami’s School of Communication in Coral Gables, Florida, where she’s taught graphic design for journalism and public relations. She utilized her 11-year career in newspaper design and graphic to develop a teaching structure for courses in infographics, web design, and multimedia design. She plans to bring her expertise and knowledge from her career as a small-business owner and graphic designer in marketing to her new courses at UNCC.
“It is bittersweet to close the last door to journalism,” Belinda says in her post on LinkedIn. “However, I am extremely excited to expand into a broader world of graphic design and look forward to new challenges.”
Belinda will continue her work as CEO at KarBel Multimedia. She holds a Master’s in Fine Arts in Motion Media Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design, as well as a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University of Florida.
